Gateway to Global Markets

The Port of Cape Preston West is a critical enabler of the Mardie Operation, and a strategic advantage that sets BCI Minerals apart.

As a Pilbara salt operation with dedicated export infrastructure, BCI manages its supply chain from seawater intake to ocean-going vessel loading. This delivers certainty, efficiency and control across each stage of production and export.

The port infrastructure is purpose-built to support the Mardie Operation’s export volumes of industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP), but its value extends beyond BCI. With Surplus capacity and a central location on the Pilbara coast, Cape Preston West is a critical piece of regional infrastructure with future potential to support third-party users.

An asset for the region

With surplus capacity built into the design, Cape Preston West has the potential to become a shared export hub for other projects in the region. This would reduce the need for duplicate infrastructure and provide cost-effective, centrally located access to global markets.

As demand grows across the Pilbara for port access, BCI’s ownership of this facility positions the company not just as a producer but as a long-term infrastructure partner.
