Sustainability at the Heart of Mardie

Our Sustainability Strategy

At Mardie, we are building a multi-generational operation in the Pilbara—one designed to create a positive and enduring legacy. Our approach to sustainability is both pragmatic and structured, shaped by a deep understanding of the unique region in which we operate. It reflects the expectations of our stakeholders and responds to the evolving environmental, social, and regulatory landscape that defines the way we do business.

Our approach to sustainability ensures we’re prepared to do more than just comply – it is our goal to develop the Mardie Operation responsibly.

Aligning with
what matters

In 2025, BCI undertook a double materiality assessment to determine our most important sustainability priorities, and to ensure alignment with our stakeholders’ expectations. This process considered both the potential impacts of our operations on people and the environment, and the influence of ESG issues on our business performance and decision-making.

We engaged internal and external stakeholders (including employees, investors, government, Traditional Owners, contractors and local community partners) to understand their expectations and concerns. We also assessed current and emerging regulatory trends and ESG frameworks.

The findings directly informed the structure of our Sustainability Framework and the focus areas under each strategic pillar. They also provide a baseline for future reporting and review.
