Economic Viability for BCI means to deliver economic growth and development for the business with social equity and environmental protection in mind. BCI recognises that by shaping our projects and operations collaboratively we can have a positive impact on our communities, the environment and our business.

For example, the Mardie Project will provide significant benefits to the State of Western Australia, the Pilbara community and Traditional Owners. In present value terms, Mardie is forecast to contribute Gross Regional Product of $3.9 billion to the northern Australian region  over its construction and operating life. Mardie will have a peak construction workforce of approximately 500 people, a permanent operating workforce of more than 200 people and will create additional indirect employment in the Pilbara region.
